Best time to go

The best time to visit Scotland is during spring (late March to May) and autumn (September to November). Temperatures are warmer by spring!

Best suppliers are RateHawk, Great Little Breaks, Olivers Travel, JTA Holidays and The Circle. If booking for yourself as the agent, best to contact the hotel directly.

  • The Glasshouse – family friendly, highly recommended. Great location

  • Waldorf Astoria – this is another family friendly hotel and is under the castle, and has great food

  • Balmoral Hotel

  • Witchery (adults only hotel and is great for couples who are

  • doing a fancy weekend away). Has the best restaurants in Edinburgh.

  • Motel One Edinburgh Princes

  • Hotel Novotel Edinburgh Centre

  • Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa

  1. FLIGHT: from any airport using a budget airline. Flight time: 1.5hrs from London. You can use JTA holidays to book budget airline.

  2. SLEEPTRAIN: you can offer this to clients who are travelling from London. Caledonian Sleeper (hugely recommended for clients with kids) is an overnight rail that goes from London Euston to Glasgow or Edinburgh. Your client will have their own pod and interconnecting pods (they offer double bed, single beds and bunk beds) are also available. A family ticket costs £305 approx including return and the trains run 6 days a week (probably cheaper than a family return via flight). You can book Caledonian Sleeper through our supplier Railbookers.
