Do not book your customer (or yourself) a flight coming into Male any later than 4pm as you will end up having to spend a night on the Male Island. This is because the last sea plane departs at 5pm as they don't have lights so they cannot fly in the dark! Additionally, It’s worth explaining to your customers about luggage, as the hold allowance for seaplanes is 20kg, and 3kg for hand luggage. They will be charged extra at the airport if they go over.

Insider tips
1) It is illegal to take seashells, tortoise shells, and corals from the beaches in the Maldives. They have strict policies, as shells end up being homes for hermit crabs and they in turn play a huge role in controlling the sand fly population.
2) Some Islands have their own time zones. To maximise sunlight hours some resorts will have their own time zones, sometimes upto 2 hours ahead of Male time. This can get very confusing when return flights are involved but fear not, the hotels are more than used to puzzled travellers and will keep you updated of departure flight times the day before.
3) Drones are not permitted in some islands! Sorry Vloggers but there are some Islands that are in no fly zones and the use of Drones can carry huge fines. Check with your hotel before you book.
